You start your day by driving along the Amalfi Coast and stopping by Positano, a picturesque fishing village which has become something of a colony for artists and writers. With white houses and terraced gardens clinging to the cliffs and a colorful port dotted with fishing boats, it is surely the Pearl of the Italian shore! Continue your tour to Pompeii to learn that before Vesuvius erupted in August of 79 A.D, Pompeii was a prosperous place with more than 20,000 inhabitants.
