The outskirts of Rome, portrays one of the finest countryside in Italy with breathtaking scenic views of lakes, vineyards, olive fields and the majestic Papal Villa in Castel Gandolfo with its Renaissance gardens!

This tour offers you a great opportunity of exploring one of the finest countryside in Italy and visiting historically famous towns located on the outskirts of Rome.
After being picked-up at your Hotel or Apartment in Rome, with a short drive will reach Castel Gandolfo, that other than being a lovely medieval town built along the border of a volcanic lake (Lake Albano), is also home of the former Papal Summer Palace. Enjoying the prereserved admissions (your driver will provide you with the tickets), you will have the opportunity to visit the Apostolic Palace and its famous Gardens, finally accessible to the public from a couple of years.
The Catholic Church owns a great deal of real estate, but few of their properties are as beloved as the Papal Palace of Castel Gandolfo. This baroque structure has served as the popes' summer home since Pope Urban VIII chose it for its stunning position and panorama in 1626. The fabulous architecture and precisely landscaped gardens of Villa Barberini, a section of the 55-hectare property, were an ideal escape from Rome's summer heat. Recently, Pope Francis has decided not to use the house and has instead opened it up for public visits.
After the visit (on your own with audioguide), continue to Nemi, an archetypal Italian village famous for its strawberries and of course the homonymous Lake.
Lake Nemi is undoubtedly one of the must-see places of the Roman countryside. Slightly smaller than the Lake of Castel Gandolfo, it is located at an altitude of 316 meters. Compared to the other lake, the shores of Lake Nemi are much wilder and less populated and the village of Nemi is visible at almost all points walking around the lake.
