After being picked-up at your Hotel or Apartment in Rome, with a short drive will reach Castel Gandolfo, that other than being a lovely medieval town built along the border of a volcanic lake (Lake Albano), is also home of the former Papal Summer Palace.

This baroque structure has served as the popes' summer home since Pope Urban VIII chose it for its stunning position and panorama in 1626. Lake Nemi is undoubtedly one of the must-see places of the Roman countryside. Slightly smaller than the Lake of Castel Gandolfo, it is located at an altitude of 316 meters. Compared to the other lake, the shores of Lake Nemi are much wilder and less populated and the village of Nemi is visible at almost all points walking around the lake.
