Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2013 for being "one of the most active and iconic volcanoes in the world", Mt. Etna is one of the most famous attractions of Sicily. Perched on the slopes of this active volcano, there are a few wineries that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea... and we want to take you, with this Private Tour, straight to the best one!
Visitors can enjoy a view at 3000 feet above sea level while tasting wines produced by the volcanic terroir. The Grillo and Carricante grapes, typical of Eastern Sicily, are responsible for full bodied wines with often a strong red fruit flavor and hints of licorice. Pair these wines with authentic Sicilian cuisine such as Pasta "alla Norma" (pasta with tomatoes, fried eggplant, grated ricotta salata cheese, and basil) and Rice Arancini.
After being picked up at your address in Taormina or Catania (the experience is also suitable for cruisers - please contact us and ask a bespoke quotation!) head up to the Mt Etna and drive along the road who takes from Linguaglossa to the Volcano National Park.
Upon your arrival at the Winery - for sure the best in all the region - you will be greeted by the team of sommeliers who will take you and visit the cellars.
At the end, sit down and, while enjoying the unique view of the estate and the surrounding natural scenery, have a food and wine tasting of the local production, that usually comprehend (changes may depend on the seasonality of some ingredients):
