The islets of Murano and Burano, in the Venice lagoon, are two small jewels rich in history and traditions but are often difficult to reach for travelers who are not familiar with Venetian water transports. Other than being two lovely little islands in the marvelous scenery of the Venice Lagoon, Murano is worldwide famous for its glass blowing artisanal production, dating back to more than 1 thousand years ago. Burano is instead the island of the needle lace makers (there is also a Museum of Lace over there!) but it's likely most famous for its colorful hysteria of little houses that make every visitor mad at it.
This Half-day Tour starts with meeting your Private Tour Assistant in the hotel lobby if centrally located - otherwise we will arrange a meeting point at the closest public pier. From there, catch the public ferry and move to Murano (the Assistant will have your Ferry day tickets, no worry!)
In about 30 minutes you will arrive at Murano, the largest of the islets that populate the Lagoon, other than Venice itself, of course. More exactly, Murano is not an unique island but a series of islands linked by bridges. Here you will be able to see a glass blowing demonstration at one of many factories that crowd the life and street of this enchanting little island (may be requested a payment of a few Euros for the glass blowing demonstration, to be eventually paid on the spot).
It's then time to move also to the Islet of Burano, a former fisher island famous - as said before - for its strong colors and light contrast, and mostly renowned for the lace making tradition.
Have a nice walk together with your Assistant along the narrow alleys of the unique venetian village, before taking the ferry back to Venice city center.
