Today you will drive to Lake Garda, west from Venice, getting there with a 1h45', to discover the largest Italian lake and the fairy-tale towns built on its shores. Then you will finally visit Verona for a walking tour in one of most enchanting medieval cities in Europe!
Lake Garda is the biggest lake in Italy. Its beauty has inspired artists, authors and even common people: it is considered a perfect mix between modern and ancient. Probably the most famous town on the Lake is Sirmione.
Sirmione, which lies between the blue waters of Lake Garda and green olive trees, is undoubtedly one of the most romantic places on Earth and its beauty has been praised by Roman poet Catullus since the early days. Visit the narrow medieval streets that burst with color, the moated castle, Rocca Scaligera or take a wander through the towns most striking attraction, the grand Roman villa, and admire the ruined walls and archaeological delights.
After approx. 1h30' in Sirmione, jump back on your car and reach the near city of Verona. Verona is a beautiful and romantic city, a prosperous medieval town in its own and also a popular tourist destination. Step back into Shakespearean times and call for your Romeo from Juliet's balcony, and don't miss the chance to visit the exceptionally preserved ancient Roman Arena where during the summer concerts and operas are still performed.
Arrange a meeting point with your driver and meet him again in the afternoon, at the end of your independent tour of Verona.
