This half day tour introduces you to Dubrovnik, also known as the "Pearl of Adriatic", which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

After taking panoramic photos of the city walls, ancient rooftops and picturesque buildings you drive back to the city to the Pile Gate where the statue of the city's patron St. Blaise welcomes you. From here you begin to explore Dubrovnik on foot starting with a walk along the Stradun, the city's main promenade. On your tour you will enjoy a guided visit of the Franciscan monastery which is built in the Romanesque-Gothic style. Inside the monastery you also visit the Old Pharmacy, which opened in 1317, making it the third oldest pharmacy in Europe, but the only one from its time which is still working. The inventories, ceramics, bowls, laboratory equipment and old medical books of the old Pharmacy are kept in the Franciscan Monastery Museum, among other highly valued and priceless objects of Dubrovnik's historic and cultural past. Another highlight of your tour is a guided tour of the impressive baroque Cathedral with Treasury. The current cathedral was built to replace a Romanesque Cathedral, which was destroyed in the Great Earthquake of 1667. The reconstructed Cathedral was finished in 1671 and is a three-hall building which contains a rich treasury and a line of paintings by top masters, such as Padovani, J. Palma the Younger, G.G. Savoldo, Parmigianino and others. The Cathedral's Treasury is located in the beautiful baroque chapel and it consists of 138 reliquaries, most of which are traditionally carried in procession around the city on the feast of St. Blaise (February 3rd). Your tour ends with some free time to relax in a local cafe or do some shopping before you return to the pier.
