Florence, cradle of the Renaissance, is home to some of the greatest masterpieces of Western art, visible not only in its main museums (Uffizi and Accademia) but between its squares and streets, as the whole city is a large open-sky museum. Whether you are in Florence or you come from other spots in Tuscany or from Rome to spend a day in town, your Private Guide will make you live an unforgettable day and you will learn to look at Florence with the eyes of a true Florentine!

Morning or afternoon meeting with your English-speaking Local Guide at your Hotel or Apartment in central Florence, to enjoy a half-day (3 hours) Private Walking Tour of the Old-town.

A stroll through the ancient center includes so many wonders for the eyes that it is difficult to list them all... Starting from the Duomo (Cathedral), with the extraordinary dome created in the 15th century by Brunelleschi, you will be admired by the nearby Giotto's Bell Tower and the Baptistery. Walking towards Piazza della Signoria you will see the impressive Palazzo Vecchio, in front of which among the various sculptures there is a copy of Michelangelo's David (the original is obviously in the Galleria dell'Accademia - the ticket can be booked by us on request).
Right next to Piazza delle Signoria, passing by the Uffizi Museum, you will reach the Arno river and admire Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge), feeling as if you were in a beautiful postcard of Italy!
Time permitting, head up to Piazza Santa Croce with the Basilica of the same name, which in addition to housing a wonderful cloister preserves the tombs of great Italian artists of the past (Michelangelo, Machiavelli, Galileo...)

Don't forget to ask the guide some tips about the best restaurants in the center where enjoying a nice Tuscan lunch or dinner: your guide will be plenty of suggestions of some inviting "trattorie" (typical restaurants, in Italian) among the dozens that crowd the labyrinth of Florence's historic center.

At the end of the walking tour, in case you come from outside Florence, you will have some time at disposal for relaxing or shopping around before meeting your driver and having a journey back to your starting point.

PLEASE NOTE:
- In case you want to see the original sculpture of David, it's highly recommended to reserve the skip-the-line entrances for the Accademia Gallery (or any other Museum in Florence, of course) in advance. Please contact us in order to know availability and costs!
