The Tuscan region of Florence is best known for the countryside, vineyards and wheat fields surrounded with the beautiful hills and mountains. The town of San Gimignano is a Medieval town and best know (other than for the production of a renowned quality of white wine called Vernaccia) for being the "Manhattan of Middle Age" thanks to its still standing medieval towers that compose a unique skyline. Volterra is one of the ancient Roman town located in Tuscany still inhabited today, and a famous destination for tourists all over the world.

This tour is designed to serve you with an opportunity of discovering the breathtaking views and heart-touching places in the Tuscan countryside. The adventure of this tour starts with a relaxing drive through the beautiful hills covered with wine and golden wheat farms. Upon arriving at San Gimignano, admire the distinctive skyline boasting 13 medieval towers. Embraced by the warm glow of mid-morning sunlight, the town's ancient towers and crenellated walls cast long shadows across the surrounding landscape. Highlights to not to be missed, Piazza della Cisterna, named after the well found at its center and encircled by unspoiled 13th and 14th century palaces; and the Piazza del Duomo (Cathedral). Enter the majestic 12th century, Romanesque church for splendid interior views. Large number of shops are found along Via San Giovanni and Via San Matteo.

Not far from San Gimignano you will reach Volterra, a town of Etruscan origin perched on a hill. This very ancient town offers a lovely central square (Piazza dei Priori) and an amazing Romanesque Cathedral, but probably the best experience is the uninterrupted views over the surrounding hills: walk the narrow streets of Volterra and reach the Etruscan walls outside the city for a fantastic view of the valley.

In the afternoon take a scenic journey through the Chianti region, passing some of Italy's oldest wine estates back to Florence.
