Siena is one of most famous tourist attraction in Tuscany and probably Italy's loveliest medieval city. Best known for its cuisine, art, museums and medieval cityscape, Siena is also the home of the Palio Horse Race that runs around Piazza del Campo twice a year in Summer. The village of San Gimignano is a Medieval town and best known (other than for the production of a renowned quality of white wine called Vernaccia) for being the "Manhattan of Middle Age" thanks to its still standing medieval towers that compose a unique skyline.

Morning pick up at your hotel in Florence (please, check the "Notes" section bottom for different pick up locations) for a relaxing driving through the marvelous Chianti wine region with two en-route stops in Siena and San Gimignano.
This tour is designed to serve you with an opportunity of discovering the breathtaking views and heart-touching places in the Tuscan countryside.

Upon arriving at San Gimignano, admire the distinctive skyline boasting 13 medieval towers. Embraced by the warm glow of mid-morning sunlight, the town's ancient towers and crenellated walls cast long shadows across the surrounding landscape. Highlights to not to be missed, Piazza della Cisterna, named after the well found at its center and encircled by unspoiled 13th and 14th century palaces; and the Piazza del Duomo (Cathedral). Enter the majestic 12th century, Romanesque church for splendid interior views.

After visiting San Gimignano, your next visit spot will be at Siena, which is regarded as the only living model of the medieval city. Admire the interior of the Cathedral, home of several masterpieces from every age and of the the Piccolomini Library. The town main square, Piazza del Campo, a one-of-a-kind urban space with its shell shape, has always been the major center for political and commercial activities in the ancient Sienese Republic, and is the site of the famous Palio delle Contrade horse race that takes place twice a year.

Drive back to your Hotel / Apartment at the end of the Full-day Tour - but, time permitting, a wine tasting along the way back is of course the best possible way to say "Goodbye" to this land!
